Pre-Budget Report 2009
The Chancellor delivered his Pre-Budget Report to Parliament on 9 December. Changes were announced that affect tax and national insurance (NI). Some of these changes will happen next year, 2010/2011, and some do not take affect until the 2011/12 and 2012/2013 tax years.

• Tax - A new 50 percent band is introduced for those who earn over £150,000.
• NI - The Lower Earnings Limit increases.
